Den Of Vipers by K.A. Knight Book Review (My Bookish Thoughts)

Hey, I'm B and welcome to My Bookish Thoughts

Welcome to a new segment on this blog that I like to call "My Bookish Thoughts". I have made it a goal to read 50 books for the year and I want to pick up on one of my favorite hobbies... writing book reviews.

I started this year's reading list with a bang... a wild, orgy style bang. Let me explain.

    Title: Den of Vipers

    Author: K.A. Knight

    Format: E-Book

    Pages: 830

Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel—The Vipers.

They run this town and everyone in it. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses.

Yes, sold me.

They own me now.

I’m theirs in every sense of the word. But I’ve never been meek and compliant. These men, they look at me with longing. Their scarred, blood-stained hands holding me tight. They want everything I am, everything I have to give, and won’t stop until they get just that. They can own my body, but they will never have my heart.

The Vipers? I’m going to make them regret the day they took me.

This girl? She bites too.

If you decide to embark on the journey that is "The Vipers", please make sure you're 18 years or older and know what a harem is. I went in knowing nothing about this book except that it was dubbed ✨spicy✨ by the book community on TikTok - also known as BookTok.

To say they're a horny bunch would be an understatement. But I also can't say much considering I went LOOKING for this book. I sought this book out not knowing what I would get but also knowing I would get something. And boy, did I get something.

The story starts with our four main men, Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel, also known as the Vipers, torturing a man named Rob because couldn't pay off a debt. The police don't get involved because the Vipers have them in their pockets... or, to be more frank, their bank accounts. They essentially run the city and no one wants to get in their way, ya know, just mob things. As a way of payment, Rob offers up his daughter, Roxy, to clear his debt and the four men agree. After that, we don't really see Rob anymore until the very end of the book, which I almost completely forgot about. My only qualm is that I would have liked to see more of a back story with their relationship... unless there was and I just can't remember.

Roxy is an independent, firecracker and doesn't go quietly when the men come into her bar and kidnap her. The Vipers state that they'll have their fun with her and then get rid of her afterward. Sure okay, obviously that doesn't happen because Roxy is different and ends up falling for all four men. And what do the four men do? Fall in love right back, รก la harem; and that ladies and gentlemen, is how we get our Reverse Harem.

Reading this book taught me what RH was and that books have no limitations to what the content could be.

Every chapter, every page, is Roxy and one of the Vipers, sometimes even two Vipers. And while I love smut as much as the next reader, I think there is such a thing as TOO MUCH smut, especially when there's barely any plot. Everyone's taste is different but I personally would have preferred it if there was more plot to offset the smut. However, I truly don't think this book had to be SO GODDAMN LONG. But good for the author to write that much. I could only ever wish to write something as long as that.

If you're thinking about reading this, be careful and watch out for Trigger Warnings. I'm serious. There is so much stuff in here that could trigger someone. In fact, here is a link to the website Book Trigger Warnings for you to check out. It'll take you directly to the DoV TW page.

All I can now say is Happy Reading ;)
